Study Session:
Every Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm, we gather to
study teachings and meditations of interest to Buddhist practictioners.
New participants are welcome at any time.
Our
current study session is a six-week series on Meditation Practices of
Tibetan Buddhism, starting January 18, 2012. Students will be
introduced to the principal meditation practices of the Karma Kagyu and
common to all lineages of Tibetan Buddhism. These include
shinay (calm abiding, shamatha, and breathing meditation), tonglen
(taking and sending), and visualization practice.

Who
We Are
The Piedmont KTC (Karma Thegsum Choling)
is a Tibetan Buddhist meditation group belonging to the Karma Kagyu
lineage. We are affiliated with the Karma Triyana
Dharmachakra
monastery
in Woodstock, NY, which is the U.S. seat of His Holiness, The 17th
Karmapa.
Our Location
We
are located in downtown Carrboro, on the 2nd floor of the IFC building.
