Two Lama Teaching Events in September

A Virtual Lama Visit: Beginning on Sept 10, Lama Kathy Wesley will be offering an entirely new series of online teachings on the importance and practice of Lojong.  They will be webcast from the Columbus KTC, and are available to the North Carolina KTCs.  Please note the time change from our usual Wednesday night: 7:00pm-8:30pm.  The suggested donation for these 6 teachings is $60.    [details] [webcast] [part 1 handout] [donations]

Save the date: We will welcome Lama Losang to the Piedmont KTC for the first time for a weekend teaching Sept. 26-28 on "The Art of Living". This will be an interactive teaching weekend, involving the practices of sitting and walking meditation, accupressure, and Chi Kung, amongst others, to learn Asian healing techniques.   [details]

Current Study Session:

Every Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm, we gather to study teachings and meditations of interest to Buddhist practictioners. New participants are welcome at any time.

On Wed., Aug. 27 at 7:30pm we will take a close look at the Chenrezig puja. We practice this beautiful compassion practice on Sunday mornings. All questions welcome!

Beginning on Sept. 3rd, we will start a 3 month study of Lojong.  Lama Kathy Wesley will be leading a webinar on several Wednesday evenings, starting at 7pm on Sept. 10.  (Note the time change!) The online live seminar, titled “Engaging in Active Compassion: The Seven-Point Mind Training,” will take place at our Center on W. Weaver St. in Carrboro. On Wed., Sept. 3 at 7:00pm,  an overview of the topic will be given, as well as an introduction to the text Lama Kathy will be using, The Great Path of Awakening. [details]



Who We Are
The Piedmont KTC (Karma Thegsum Choling) is a Tibetan Buddhist meditation group belonging to the Karma Kagyu lineage. We are affiliated with the Karma Triyana Dharmachakra
monastery in Woodstock, NY, which is the U.S. seat of His Holiness, The 17th Karmapa.

Our Location
We are located in downtown Carrboro, on the 2nd floor of the IFC building.  Please park and enter from the rear of the building, between #201 and #203 West Weaver Street.
